Find Goodhue County Inmates

Goodhue County inmate search starts with the county jail roster and expands to state custody tools when a person is no longer held locally. A Goodhue County jail roster search can show current custody, recent intake details, charge text, bail data, and release notes, but it is not a certified court record or a full criminal history. Goodhue County, Minnesota inmate information may also connect to court charges, warrants, state prison custody, and victim notification services after a booking moves into the court system.

Goodhue County Jail Roster Overview

The Goodhue County Sheriff's Office is the local jail agency for Goodhue County. Sheriff Marty Kelly's office operates the Adult Detention Center, often shortened to ADC, and publishes the official Goodhue County jail roster as a static PDF report. The roster is not a live form with name fields. It is a report that a reader searches with the browser or PDF find command. The county's own disclaimer says the jail roster should not be relied on for legal action, may not always be current or complete, and cannot confirm true identity without fingerprint comparison.

The Goodhue County ADC houses people charged with or convicted of crimes of all levels in the county. It can also board detainees from other jurisdictions when needed. The live ADC page says the jail can hold up to 90 men and women in six housing units, while a separate planning document used a higher approved-bed figure for equipment planning. For public custody lookup, the live county roster is the practical source. A person sentenced to more than one year is usually transferred to a state facility, so the Minnesota DOC locator becomes the better search channel after transfer or release supervision.

The Goodhue County Adult Detention Center page is the county source for custody services, visitation, bail, money, mail, VINE, and accessibility information.

The ADC source is important because the roster is only one part of Goodhue County inmate records. Visitation, deposits, mail, and bail procedures are maintained on the facility page.

Use the Goodhue County Roster

The Goodhue County jail roster landing page links to the current roster report. Since the roster is a PDF rather than a database, it does not offer a last-name field, first-name field, booking-number field, or date filter. It works best when a reader knows part of the person's name, arresting agency, charge text, or case-number fragment. Goodhue County inmate records on the roster may include a court case reference such as a CR case number, which can later help with court-charge lookup.

  1. Open the Goodhue County jail roster landing page and follow the link to the current PDF roster report.
  2. Use the browser or PDF find command, often Ctrl+F or Command+F, and enter any part of the person's last name, first name, arresting agency, or charge text.
  3. Read the full entry, not just the name line. Intake date, bail amount, status, arresting agency, and projected release date can change how the record should be interpreted.
  4. Check for case or warrant references in the charge text. Those references can lead to MCRO, the Goodhue County warrant list, or Goodhue County District Court Administration.
  5. Call the ADC for current custody details when release, transport, identity, or bail timing matters.

The roster landing page confirms that Goodhue County inmate search is report-based. It is useful for quick custody checks, but it should be paired with phone verification for urgent action and with court records for the filed case.

The landing page is the stable way to reach the current roster when the direct PDF filename changes or opens as a download.

Goodhue County Inmate Search Fields

Goodhue County does not provide an interactive inmate search form on the public website. The fields below are the searchable text and visible fields in the roster report. They matter because a PDF search can find a person by name, but it can also find matching text in the charge or agency fields. A search for Red Wing Police Department, Prairie Island Tribal Police, Minnesota State Patrol, a DWI term, or a case-number fragment may locate an entry when a name spelling is uncertain.

Field LabelTypeRequiredOptions / Format Notes

Last Name / First NamePDF textOptionalNames appear in roster entries; there is no official search box.

Note: A roster match is not proof of conviction, and Goodhue County warns that identity and current status must be verified through official channels.

Goodhue County Inmate Record Fields

The inspected Goodhue County jail roster report showed a current-as-of timestamp and a sequence-style roster number. Each person entry used a last, first, middle name format and listed the intake date, bail amount, arresting agency, charge text, custody status, and projected release date when available. Some charge lines included case or warrant references. Those references are valuable because recent criminal matters may not appear in MCRO by defendant-name search when the case is pending and has no conviction.

Goodhue County ADC Contact

The Goodhue County ADC is in the Law Enforcement Center in Red Wing. It is the local contact point for Goodhue County inmate custody questions, but Sheriff Records Division handles many report-copy requests and the court handles certified case records. The distinction matters. Jail staff can help with custody status, visitation, phone access, and facility procedures. Sheriff Records can help with sheriff-generated reports and paperwork. District Court Administration handles court case files, court calendars, and certified copies.

The ADC page states that juveniles are transported to specialized facilities and are not held in the Goodhue County ADC. State prisoners and people under DOC supervision should be searched through DOC tools rather than the county roster.

Goodhue County Inmates in State Systems

Goodhue County inmate lookup can move beyond the county roster when a person is sentenced, transferred, released to supervision, or listed through a state public-safety channel. The Minnesota DOC public offender locator searches adults under DOC jurisdiction. It accepts first name, last name, or a six-digit MNDOC Offender ID. Name searches use beginning-letter matching and may include conviction names or aliases. It is not a substitute for the Goodhue jail roster when a person is still in local custody.

The Minnesota DOC public offender locator is the state custody channel for people under DOC control after transfer or supervision.

Use the DOC locator when the Goodhue County jail roster no longer lists the person or when the sentence may have moved the person into state custody.

The broader Minnesota DOC search page links adult custody, fugitives, and predatory registrant resources.

That state page is useful when the local roster does not answer whether a person is in prison, a fugitive listing, or another state disclosure channel.

Predatory-offender disclosure is a separate state channel, not a Goodhue County jail roster. The Minnesota DOC public registrant search offers city, county, name, and ZIP Code search methods for registrants subject to public notification. Goodhue County appears in the county list, and Red Wing and Lake City appear in city lists. Up-to-date registrants do not appear in the separate BCA non-compliant registrant search unless they meet that non-compliant status.

Goodhue County Custody Notifications

Minnesota VINE is a notification service for custody status. It is not a Goodhue County inmate search database and it is not a warrant lookup. It can help victims, family members, and other registrants receive custody-status information after a person is booked, transferred, or released. The Goodhue ADC page points to VINE but warns users not to depend solely on VINE for protection. Direct contact with law enforcement, the court, or counsel remains important when safety, release timing, or protective orders are involved.

The Minnesota VINE portal is the online registration and custody-notification channel for Minnesota.

VINE works best as a notification layer after custody is confirmed through the Goodhue County ADC, the jail roster, or another official custody source.

Goodhue County Inmate Visitation

Goodhue County ADC visitation uses Turnkey and Inmate Canteen. The county says all visitors need to re-register and create new visitation sessions under Turnkey. Account setup and visitation registration are handled through Inmate Canteen, and the county asks users to allow about 24 hours for registration approval. Onsite video visitation is free. Remote video visits from home may have fees. Older Goodhue instructions that still name Securus should be treated as superseded when they conflict with the current live ADC page.

Facility staff may end visits for rule violations, emergencies, disruption, intoxication, sexual behavior, revealing clothing, offensive language, equipment tampering, or contraband concerns. Visitors age 17 and under must be with a parent or legal guardian. Late arrival does not extend a visit, and a detainee may refuse a visit.

Goodhue County Inmate Mail and Money

Mail to a detainee should use this format: Goodhue County Adult Detention Center, "Name of Detainee," 430 W. 6th Street, Red Wing MN 55066. Detainees can send and receive mail, but the ADC does not accept pre-stamped return envelopes, stamps, photocopies of any kind, or computer print-outs. Staff will not take phone messages for detainees. Messages should use email, text, video visit, or calls through Inmate Canteen.

Funds may be sent by money order, certified bank check, teller check, or cash. Personal checks should not be mailed. Credit-card deposits are available online through Inmate Canteen / TEAM3, and credit-card or cash deposits can be made at the blue Customer Service Kiosk in the ADC lobby. The county states that Inmate Canteen Mobile is available for Apple and Android, but the official ADC page did not publish store links. The Red Wing PD app was located during the mobile sweep, but it is for tips and alerts, not Goodhue County inmate lookup.

Note: GovPayNow is linked for bail and warrant bond payments, but the bailed party must still contact the court or issuing county about court dates and contact information.
